Yoga Therapy

Yogrishi Swami Ramdev Ji Maharaj is a renowned yogi who is famous for revolutionizing yoga. His Yoga is a set of different yoga poses and methods that help in achieving good health and treating or controlling different ailments in the body. A subset of his methods, Pranayama is a collection of breathing methods that focus on increasing the blood circulation of the body and improving the flow of blood to all the internal organs of the body so that overall health of the individual improves. There are various steps in Baba Ramdev Pranayam that will help you reap the same benefits that regular yoga will help you achieve.

Nadishodhan , Chandrabhedi , Surya bhedi , Karna Rogantak

To enhance the effect of yoga therapy, Ramdev ji emphasises consistent practice of anulom vilom yoga, bhastrika yoga, and kapalbhati asana. These breathing techniques help restore balance, remove blockages in the body's energy channels, and support mental clarity. By combining these with traditional postures, Ramdev yoga offers a holistic approach to wellness that benefits both mind and body.

Pranayam

Bhastrika Pranayama

In a meditative-asana, sitting with the waist, neck straight as per the convenience, filling the breath from both the nostrils to the diaphragm (mahaprachira muscle) and slowly releasing it with ease is called 'Bhastrika Pranayama'.

Bhastrika

Kapalbhati Pranayama

In Kapalbhati, full attention is given to the laxative only. Do not try to supplement, but easily let go as much as the breath goes in, the whole concentration is in exhaling the breath. In doing so, naturally the action of contraction and transmission takes place in the abdomen as well. Once in a second, the breath should be released with rhythm and held easily.

Kapalbhati

Anulom-Vilom Pranayama

Special: Sitting in any meditative posture, keeping the waist-neck and head straight, placing the left hand on the left knee in Gyanmudra, making a nasal pose with the right hand, closing the right nostril with the thumb, gradually lengthening from the left nostril. Take a deep breath.

Practising anulom vilom yoga regularly helps maintain calmness and improves lung capacity. This makes anulom vilom Kapalbhati an effective combination in daily routine.

Anulom-Vilom

Bahya Pranayama

Sitting methodically in Siddhasana or Padmasana, exhale as much as possible in one go. By taking out the breath, hold the breath outside as much as possible by applying tribandh i.e. Mool bandha, Uddiyana bandha and Jalandhara bandha. When the urge to inhale becomes strong, then inhale slowly, releasing the bandhas. Breathe in and do the same breathing action again without stopping it.

Practising > Bahya Pranayama is known to energise the abdominal region and cleanse internal systems. It is a vital part of Patanjali pranayama regimen.

Bahya

Ujjayi Pranayama

Sitting in the meditative posture, contracting the throat while inhaling with both the nostrils, and when contracting the throat and inhaling, then just as there is a sound from the throat while taking a snoring, in the same way there is a sound from the throat while inhaling it. There should be no friction of air in the nose. In this pranayama, one should always close the right nostril and exhale from the left nostril.

Ujjayi

Bhramari Pranayama
